The replica of the pretty cap point from the Viking era is crafted in close following to a historic original find from the Viking town of Birka.
Such points were typical of the Swedish Vikings, who lived in the west of Russia, the then Gardarike, along the great rivers and traded and called Rus, according to the (presumably) Norman term for rowers and rowing teams.

The top of the hat has the Hungarian costumes as an example, as they are also found on belt and pocket fittings from the Viking era. The original was probably made in Kiev.

The originals of the point were found in two richly equipped tombs from the tenth century (tomb 581 and 644) in the viking-time town Birka, which was located in the midst of the Swedish lake Mälarsees and was a large trading place for the Rus-Vikings from the east ,
The top of the cap measures 4.5 x 2.4 cm and is provided with four holes with which the tip at the end of the cap can be sewn with a few stitches.

Made of Zamak cast in the colors bronze and silver.
The original Birka cap, unlike our replica, was made of pure silver and elaborate filigree work.
