Replica of a Samearm Fibula of the Viking age according to a find from Birka.

The original of this samearm fibula is from the end of the 9th century or the beginning of the 10th century and was found in the Viking settlement Birka, situated in the Swedish Lake Malar near Stockholm.

Samearm Fibula were worn in the Viking Age as an alternative to the disc fibula. This fibula was used to close a light cape or used as a third thread to hold a chain hanging in the middle of the chest.
